My Story

Welcome to the Cooper Street Relic. I write what I feel like and while much of this site is about my life growing up in the small Ontario town of Hespeler, I also include music and photography in here as well. I tend to write sporadically so be patient if I have not posted anything recently.  My writings have been published in the Cambridge Times, Cambridge Citizen, Hespeler Happenings and in Our Canada Magazine. I will be having 2 books coming out in late summer 2017 one a collection of my stories and one a collection of my photos, I am on facebook and on twitter @jimmhillis57.  Thank you for taking the time to read and check out my pictures, hope you enjoy.  James Hillis.

  1. Can you please send me your direct email as I have a story for you to look at.

  2. I was born in 1960, grew up across from Shades Mills.
Went to highschool (G.C.I.) with a lot of kids from Hespeler.
I didn’t read all of your blog, but I enjoyed what I did read.
    Very thoughtful.

I knew Margaret and Bob Gibson, in Hespeler.
Their daughters were Lynn and Gail Gibson.
Good friends of our family. All gone now except Gail.
Thank you for sharing. I’ll be back.

  3. Great reading and photos.
